SUNDIAL CITY
The hourglass, sundial, and lunar eclipses are the time symbols included in the design of the Sundial City. Each object’s component count reflects the passage of time: 3 for the clock hands, 12 for the months, and 24 for the solar terms. The circular motion of the components showed how time moves in loops throughout the metropolis.
The city above the dial is more delicate, whereas the city at the bottom is powered by a complicated rough gear mechanism. Given that the Blood Moon only occurred during the total lunar eclipse, the scenery gave the appearance of an isolated world.⠀
